55 Leigh Montville’s Ted Williams biography is jacko’s favorite.  bs: Ted Williams was the best biography subject: war hero, greatest hitter ever, polarizing when he played (?), a really curmudgeonly guy - hunter s thompson comparison.  great guy even though he was crabby.
